Several points of interest:
1. Charlie Taft, Baxter Taft's older brother and Nick Taft's father, was first seen here as well as spoken of here.
2. Does the name "Pitch" sound familiar? It should, we've heard Dilton utter it before AND I can guarantee that whatever it is will become VERY significant to this storyline...
I have not has as much trouble with a single comic strip that I've ever done than with CNW 150.
This mockery of production values has gone through 2 rewrites - the first one done BEFORE I changed my art style. Two different drawn versions of it, AND a computer. And all things considering - I'm extremely pleased with how it came out.
The first rendition of the comic was lost in the second major computer crash I've ever had. (NO I WILL NOT BE DOING ANOTHER COMPUTER FUNERAL STRIP! ) Just before I left for New Jersey, I was about 85-90% done with it when my comp folded in on itself and decided to turn Photoshop into a nice little black hole. Upon trying to reopen my PSD and my spare PSD file I came to the horrifying realization that whatever had happened reduced the entire thing to a steaming pile of multicolored static and gobbledygook.
Dub was not pleased.
So I just said screw it and decided to wait until I returned from New Jersey to bother with it. And to be quite honest, while I was really pleased with how the first version came out, I'm doubly pleased with this one. It's the first comic I've colored since progressing my art style to where it is now and I'm happy with the results.
So here we are done with what in my mind is the "prologue" to the Road Trip saga. You've seen whats happened to Wendy and Walter. We've delved a little bit into the mind of Dilton Wetbread (who has only been seen in tiny snippets up until now), we've seen what Professor Wetbread was like before the death of Donovan Duckbill, we've gotten introduced in full to Nick, Nicole, and Bradley, and Cameron (my personal favorite character from CNW) has finally made his debut. So what to expect for the next 50? Just look in this very strip and you'll find every bit of foreshadowing that you need. The setup is all over...
Don't forget to let me know what you think of the strip on the forums! See you on CNW 151!
The next comic strip is...% Complete!
